This Smoky Paprika Snack Mix is the ultimate crunchy, savoury bowl of goodness — bold, toasty, and impossible to stop snacking on. Each bite has that perfect balance of crisp pretzels, roasted nuts, and crunchy seeds coated in a warm smoky paprika blend. It’s the ideal quick homemade party mix for Christmas gatherings, festive movie nights, game nights, lunchboxes, or cosy evenings when you want something flavourful but still gluten- and dairy-free.

Baking tray filled with toasted gluten-free pretzels, nuts, and seeds coated in a deep red smoky paprika seasoning.

Because everything bakes together on one tray, the seasoning clings beautifully to each piece, giving you a deeply savoury, smoky finish with just the right hint of spice. It’s simple, affordable, and so much better than anything store-bought.

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes Total Time: 30 minutes Servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • 100g gluten-free pretzels

  • 80g gluten-free rice crackers or corn snacks

  • 80g mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans)

  • 40g pumpkin seeds

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp sweet paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 170°C (150°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment.

  2. In a large bowl, combine pretzels, rice crackers, nuts, and pumpkin seeds.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, smoked paprika, sweet paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and cayenne.

  4. Pour the seasoned oil over the snack mix and toss until every piece is evenly coated.

  5. Spread onto the tray in a single layer.

  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until lightly toasted and fragrant.

  7. Allow to cool completely — it crisps up even more as it cools.

What Makes This Smoky Paprika Snack Mix Special

This isn’t just any snack mix — it’s your homemade, allergy-friendly version of the classic seasoned party mix. The smoked paprika gives it that irresistible barbecue-style depth, while the nuts and seeds add crunch and plant-based protein. Because it’s baked low and slow, the spices toast gently, amplifying flavour without burning.

It’s a brilliant option for gluten-free entertaining, festive grazing boards, or prepping ahead for holiday hosting. And unlike packaged snack mixes, you control everything — the seasoning, the spice level, and the ingredients.
