What Makes This Gluten Free Dairy Free Slower Cooker Beef Tips Special

This gluten- and dairy-free version of classic beef tips and gravy delivers all the richness of a traditional recipe — without the flour, butter, or cream. The combination of tamari and coconut aminos brings depth and umami, while slow cooking transforms even budget-friendly cuts of beef into fork-tender perfection. The gravy thickens naturally with cornflour, creating that glossy, silky texture you’d expect from restaurant-style comfort food. It’s proof that allergy-friendly meals can be just as satisfying and flavour-packed as the classics.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these tender beef tips over creamy mashed potatoes made with dairy-free butter, or ladle them onto rice for an easy, balanced meal. They’re also wonderful over gluten-free pasta or alongside roasted root vegetables. For a lighter option, spoon the beef and gravy over cauliflower mash or pair with steamed greens. Want to make it feel like a Sunday roast? Add a side of roasted carrots and a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a complete, comforting dinner.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. The flavour actually improves overnight as the sauce thickens and deepens. Reheat gently on the hob or in the microwave, adding a splash of stock or water if needed to loosen the gravy. This dish also freezes beautifully — portion it out into containers and freeze for up to two months. Defrost overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Optional Tips & Variations

  • Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or gluten-free pasta.

  • Add mushrooms, carrots, or peas for extra depth.

  • Stir in 1 tbsp of dairy-free butter before serving for added richness.

  • Swap beef for lamb or chicken thighs for a fun variation.
