What Makes This Gluten Free Dairy Free Avocado Crema Special
This avocado crema gives you all the richness of sour cream — but it’s 100% plant-based and made with simple, wholesome ingredients. The combination of ripe avocado, tangy lime juice, and creamy dairy-free yoghurt creates a perfectly balanced sauce that complements both spicy and savoury dishes.
It’s completely gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan, yet luxuriously smooth and satisfying. Best of all, it’s ready in minutes and keeps its vibrant green colour beautifully when stored correctly.
Serving Suggestions
Drizzle avocado crema over vegan tacos, burrito bowls, or roasted vegetables. It also makes a fantastic dip for tortilla chips, plantain crisps, or fresh veggie sticks.
For extra freshness, top it with a sprinkle of coriander or a squeeze of lime right before serving. You can also use it as a sandwich spread or a creamy salad dressing base — just thin it slightly with water or olive oil.
Storage & Make-Ahead Tips
Store avocado crema in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To prevent browning, press a piece of cling film or parchment directly onto the surface before sealing the container.
If you’d like to make it in advance for meal prep, add a little extra lime juice — the acidity helps preserve the colour and freshness.

Optional Tips & Variations
Add fresh coriander for a herby kick.
Stir in a pinch of chilli flakes or jalapeño for heat.
Use coconut cream for a tropical twist.
Swap lime for lemon if you prefer a slightly sharper tang.
Add 1 tbsp olive oil for a silkier, richer texture.
